During the last week in October, the Wisconsin schools have off the last Thursday & Friday, so we took the opportunity to take a Disney Cruise. What a fantastic experience. Everything was so well done, from the theming, to the locales, to the dining. We just couldn't get enough. We definitely got into the activities and theme nights such as pirate night. And the boys loved the kids club.
The boys got to sit in the pilot seats on the way down, and after the cruise we took a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center. David was in heaven!!
It's been quite a while since I've posted, so I'll try to give you a smattering of our summer. Dani came back for the summer and we had a great time. She's going into her last year at college this year, so we need to enjoy this time while we can! We went to baseball games - and have turned Dani into an avid fan - especially of the Brewers!
We also got to do a bit of skiing - and both boys love it! The kids skis make a world of difference and they got up almost every time.
We enjoyed visiting friends at their cabin up north, as well as having our east coast friends visit us.
We also went on a late summer trip to Ocean City Maryland with the Basler cousins and had a great time.
Rob & the boys came to visit me in Michigan and we decided to go to the Tigers vs. Brewers game. While it wasn't a great day for the Brewers (we lost) it was the first no-hitter any of us have seen in person. And we came "this close" to catching a foul ball - good thing at least one of us had our brewer hard hat on. It was a great experience and I hope the boys remember it. For their second Major League game - not so bad. I wish I had pictures of the blue faces after the cotton candy and the wonder of wandering through Comerica park. A really good day!
Well - the day after Becca's bachelorette was the big Pump it up party day. This place was great! We had about 24 kids and the event went so smoothly. The kids watched a safety video first, then went to room A for 40 minutes, then room B for 40 minutes, then into the party room for pizza, cake & presents. They loved it, and so did I as it was all taken care of for me. They had helpers in the play rooms & party room. and they even made a list of the gifts & who gave them. Talk about service.
The kids were all sweaty & tired after 2 hours - a sign of a good party. We'll definitely have to go back there again.
What a fun night! I wasn't sure if I could hang with the young ladies, but not only did I hang from 7 pm to 1:30 am, I managed to feel just fine the next day. This bachelorette had all the fixings - a dressed up bride, a yellow school bus, lost partier drama, lost ring drama, and ages ranging from 20s to 50s. All it all a very fun night - and yes, she did find the ring!
Saturday was Becca's bridal shower. It's been a while since I've been to a bridal shower and it was a lot of fun. The games, the food, the family & friends. It's good to have an excuse to see your family & friends for something like this.
Proof that life is not always all work & no play – these are a few pictures from some activities with people I work with. We went to a baseball game at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio – home of the reigning two time Triple A World Champions. There really is nothing like great seats, and a few hot dogs at a great ballpark. Most of the team from my Toledo engagement made it our for some fun. And I learned a new betting game that makes going to a game where you are not a true fan of either team a lot of fun. Never won – but that’s ok.
Then this last weekend, I was able to spend a few days in Vegas with Rob at the KCC outing. It was a lot of fun and I was able to spend some time with folks that I usually only deal with over the phone. I also met a lot of great new folks. We went on a helicopter trip to the floor of the Grand Canyon – Awesome experience!
